"ntoskrnl.exe is missing or corrupt"appears unless disk is inserted

When I installed Windows 7 Pro x64 today, I did a custom install but I didn't format my drive beforehand. After it restarted the first time, it came up to a screen that said this: Code: --------- Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: < Windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe. Please re-install a copy of the above file ---------
