I was using the down-arrow key to scroll thru a web page in FireFox 26.0 and for the first time since buying this machine in late 2009 I got my first BSOD. The machine did not give me enough time to read the blue screen because it automatically restarted. After the restart a pop-up did appear and I was able to copy the text into a file : *Problem signature:* *Problem Event Name: BlueScreen*...

When reading dump files; what is the easiest way to figure out the culprit in terms of what everything in a dump file is pointing to as the reason for the dump file happening? Is it whatever the string is pointing to is the culprit or something similar? I am not a expert in reading dump files; but; I will take a crack at answering them if i feel i can answer accordingly and i do want to have...

About two months back, I decided to upgrade to Win 7 64 bit to take advantage of all of my memory. About the same time I also upgraded my CPU from Core 2 Duo E6600 to Core 2 Quad Q9650. I get my BSOD most of the time when playing Battlefield 3. I've gotten it once while browsing though. This recently started, and I have made no hardware changes, and updated sound drivers and graphics drivers, but the issue persists. I attempted to use the sf tool, but it would not output to my desktop, despite running it as admin. I have attached my minidump though. Any help is...

Hey guys, Recently my (relatively new) PC, has been crashing multiple times a day, for no apparent reason, giving a blue screen of death. Usually the main error is IRQL_NO_LESS_OR_EQUAL, but this also varies sometimes to MEMORY_MANAGEMENT or NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM. Some research showed me that it is either a RAM stick problem (so hardware) or a (third party) driver problem. I've tried installing...

I have gotten the BSOD about 15 times over the past month or so, and I am not sure why. I used the program BlueScreenView to lok at my dump files, and it said the causing drivers were either ntoskrnl.exe, hal.dll, or usbhub.sys each time. I have no idea where to turn, so I posted here. Attached is my data from the SF Diagnostic Tool. Thanks in advance

After exiting BF4 my computer Blue Screened and reset. I didn't catch what the blue screen said, but after reading the dump file it looks like cdd.dll is the culprit, but I'm not sure what the problem is specifically.

Hello there, I've been getting these random BSOD's and I have no idea what is causing them. I can't remember updating or installing anything that could have caused them to start. I haven't really noticed a pattern in what causes them, sometimes they happen when I open a game. Thanks for your help!

Question on SF Diagnostics

I should like to know how many files/folders should appear in the zipped folder that needs be sent to you. I followed the instructions and expected to see one for every box below "grab all". There are fewer and the progress bar looks to have completed its traverse, but Task Manager shows SFDignostic running and ther is a Success icon there too. Is SF Diagnostics working OK, has finished its...

Symptoms are that at start-up the system crashed. Turning the computer on by the on/off button, plug pulling or mains recycle had no effect. Strangley, what did work was to remove the power plug from the monitor and then reinsert it (the plug was secure before the removal and reinsertion. SFDiagnostic file is attached, but if that is defective SF Debug files are available too. Can you help,...

Hi guys, Suddenly seemed to start getting lots of system_service_exception BSODs in the last month or so. Not had them before, only the occasional Driver_Power_state_failure which seemed to calm down once I updated some drivers. I've not added any new hardware or software recently. I thought they happened while playing games (X-COM) but recently they have happened while browsing the web or...

My family has been using this Dell Inspiron 1525 for about 4 years now and it has been having random BSOD since day 1. At first we thought it was an overheating problem because the keyboard gets quite hot after a few minutes into turning it on. But this problem happens in winter too, so that was dismissed. Bluescreenview says the problem is due to ntkrnlpa.exe. There are a lot of cases on the...
