Cannot open .DMP file
I recently had a BSOD and after the computer rebooted i tried to open the .DMP(uning Notepad or Wordpad) file from C:\Windows\Minidump but when I double-right-clicked it it said "Access denied!".I'm confused about that I'm the admin and it doesn't let me open that file.

I'm currently trying to ressurect my mother's win 7 laptop from a BSOD which is preventing startup.
Whilst I'm reasonably tech savvy (Ex S/W Developer) I'm a Mac owner myself and not really used a Windows machine for the past 10 years so I'm struggling somewhat to get anywhere.

BSOD in sleep mode about 30% of the time
While technically it isn't a BSOD cause the computer is off, it constantly does not come out of sleep mode, then upon doing a hard restart (power button on from sleep). I get the normal boot or safemode screen and when I boot normally I get the message you have recovered from a crash ... bla.. I have attached my dumps using the method outlined. Anyone got any clue what the culprit is?

BSOD after Total War Rome II install
My son installed this newly bought game on his laptop. He leaves for college in 2 days and it has significant problems. He says that he actually played the game for a bit, left the laptop in standby mode for a few hours, and came back to the BSOD. I was browsing Facebook and exactly when I wanted to play a video I got this BSOD:

Windows 7 gets stuck at "Starting Windows" screen
So, I know this isn't exactly a BSOD, but I couldn't find any other place to post it. Here we go.
Basically, it's exactly what it says on the tin. Win7 get stuck at the Starting Windows screen. I tried leaving it run for an hour and it didn't get any further. Thing is, this happened to me the last few times I turned on the PC, but I was always able to fix it by using the Startup Repair tool....

BSOD possibly caused by adding RAM
So I purchased new RAM with the exact same specs (DDR3 1600Mhz 9-9-9-24 1.5v) all 4 GB sticks. The ram I had in slots A1 and A2 worked fine and I had no issues. With the new ram in slots B1 and B2 the computer blue screens every couple of hours. I ran memtest86+ for 10 passes and there were no errors. I am having trouble with my HP s5212y unit. I get the BSOD all the time. I have checked for viruses, malware and adware. Ran a mem test, OK. Pulled memory sticks and cleaned. Ran a chkdisk. I did run in Safe Mode and it did not crash. I updated all the drivers. NEED HELP!! I have uploaded my zfile.

Weird boot problem in Windows 7

BSOD Playing FFXIV, GW2, Aion, etc
I'm experiencing issues with online games. I either have my computer freeze up, receive BSOD, or have my laptop screen go completely black and then the screen comes back with the Nvidia kernel error where it says that the kernal was restarted.
